ATHIRAN !

Athiran is that sort of a movie which deserves to be in the hit charts purely based on its technical capability and story telling. Movie tries to capture a certain lonely place or a plot which strictly follows several Hollywood movies, but purely sticks to the plan and instills some faith and justice to the movie. First half was intriguing and captivating in its own ways, giving most of the credits to the technical crew than the working cast. Cinematography and editing was crisp in all the sense and there is a wow element in every frame which enthralls the curiosity of every viewers.

Fahadh Fazil does what he does the best and Sai Pallavi turned out to be surprise factor. Moving onto the second half, there isn't much to portray as the story unveils and the director seems to lose a hold on the movie as a result the viewers too. Incidentally, the 20-30 minutes phase of the movie after the interval decided its fate. This phase was slow, uninteresting and meaningless to a normal viewer, thus the movie graph goes down. Eventually, you may get to a feeling that the director was having the climax in the mind and was dragging the second half in order to reach there as most of the new gen film does. But, in fact, this film deserved much more applause and critical acclaim, considering the effort taken and the experimental element which has been put into the film to avoid the clichés.

Climax of the movie was well setup, even though it was predictable to an extend. Director tries to maintain the curiosity element and the unique making style through out the movie which held me to be honest. But a little patch ups here and there - who knows Athiran would have turned out to be a masterpiece film in this particular genre. But for now slight glimpses and promises !
