KAANEKAANE
Manu Ashokan who had a successful debut through 'Uyare' teams up again with Bobby Sanjay to recreate the same success, but this time through an OTT platform. When films are given great publicity ahead of their releases, 'Kaanekaane' launches silently without making much fuzz. Every time you see Bobby-Sanjay duo on the screen, the expectation levels are so high that they need to exceed it every time they pen something new. This time, apparently they focused more on their solid skills rather than experimenting something out of the box.
Kaanakaane is an emotional drama which sticks into the viewers like a thriller. It is backed up by some solid performances. Even though you have 'Tovino' and 'Aishwarya' as the main leads, the whole limelight is drawn into Suraj Venjaramood, who delivers one of a kind performance which may be remembered for a long time. Bobby-Sanjay duo, if you know about them, they are good at establishing characters and that is what made this film going.
The script of the movie is such that they need to make this film slow paced, but the makers never compromised on dialogues and cinematography. Manu Ashokan is one lad who gives quality films, and he knows who to cast and where to place them. The only drawback I felt was the ending. It was a tad predictable, but considering the larger scheme of things, Kaanekaane is a different watch. Overall, I am pretty relieved to see Bobby-Sanjay duo back at their best.
Evidently Sony Liv is matching up with their counterparts and Kaanekaane is a perfect addition to the list !
