KURUTHI

Kuruthi is a notable cinematic experience considering the alarming theme which they have selected. On the back of a highly reputed production banner and a resounding cast, 'Kuruthi' really makes that first impression which makes all the viewers glued to the screen. Amazon Prime seems to be a unicorn when bagging Indian movies with quality contents.

From the first frame onwards you ought to expect an intriguing moment coming on to you and the initial scenes are certainly catchy. The cast lead by Roshan and Mammukoya delivers a commendable performance which makes the film going. Mammukoya delivers one of his career best performance over here and he is certainly underutilized in this industry. Build on a very small scale, makers have made complete justice to the premise which the film holds. The theme of the film packages old wine in a new bottle, but the new bottle is a sensational talking point in the current political scenario of India.

Apparently, some where around the first half Prithviraj's entry as 'Laik' twists the narrative dimension of the film. Till then it was holding a natural flow and the actors were performing well, but post Laik's entry, 'Kuruthi' adds a dramatic dimension to it. Dialogues seems to be scripted and Prithviraj performs them in a robotic mode. Taking nothing away from Prithviraj and the rest of the crew, second half seems to be a tad predictable but it is not short on the thrill element.

Kuruthi is a slow paced dramatic thriller which builds up its pace in the second half. The message which it delivers is indeed a bold one. There are some scenes and frames which makes the film top notch and the dialogues are to the point and it stands neutral to an extend. Barring some of the minor flaws, 'Kuruthi' is a tremendous effort considering the message which it delivered and how it was showcased.
