83

It is very disappointing to see a well made commercial film like 83 getting underperformed in big screens amid having a great plot. Film is a recent victim of pandemic where in many theatres were having low occupancy which highly affected this big budget film.

Kabir Khan's 83 is an ambitious project which has a near to perfect cast portraying the highs and lows of India's historical 1983 world cup win. Even though if you are not a big cricket fan, you have got to appreciate the fact that the aura which the film carried through out was spellblinding. Ranveer Singh bringing out his career best performance showcasing Kapil onscreen makes him one of the versatile actor across industry. Some of the minute expressions and mannerisms which Ranveer brought into the table shows us the amount of hardwork which he has putforth into building this character. The main thing which the makers has to be spot on was on the casting and it was literally spot on.

I have never came across a scene which bored me in 83. Yes, you know the story, you know the matches, but the film portrayed unseen and unheard emotions which was astonishing to watch. 83 is a great commercial movie which would go as a dark chapter in the filmography of Kabir Khan due to its mediocre outcome in big screens.
