Kalki 2898 AD
Kalki, daunted as the biggest film from Indian film industry, released recently and it is indeed a magnanimous one considering the quality and filmaking aspect. With an exuberant star cast, the film precisely also got it right in placing the star cameos in powerful roles which elevated the movie. As the film is a science fiction, you expect a ton of money to be spend on special effects, but all of it comes well and good as Kalki is nothing sort of a visual treat.
The story line is something which keeps you glued to your seat. There are exceptional flashback sequences which acts as a core for Kalki which is filmed in such a way that you want to see those visuals coming frequently in the movie. Prabhas who had a great outing in 'Salaar' comes back again with a bang along with Amitabh Bachan who also helms a pivotal role in the film.
Director Nag Aswin known for his brilliant films, makes sure that all the budget drawn into this movie doesn't go into wane. The first half, narrating a dystopian future may feel like going overboard in some scenes, but eventually finds its rythm in the second half. The movie also has a terrific ending which serves as a bridge to start the second part. The VFX in Kalki has to be one of the best in the industry so far.
Waiting for OTT to watch this film would be a great miss and a disappointment considering the fact that this is a film for big screens!
