PSYCHO
The one thing I most look onto films no matter what genre it is to get things right on the plot from the first frame, not bragging too much, in fact establishing the plot and creating an atmosphere that suits the genre. Perhaps, Mysskin is one of the directors in the Tamil Film industry which admires me when it comes to unconventional making and a difference in perception when picking the genres.
Finding a serial killer/ Psychopath is an old tale in any industry and I find it very boring when the initial half of the film revolves around antagonists doing his deeds (killings) and protagonist trying to decode the elements of killings. So coming to 'Psycho', what makes this film different from its counterparts? Why was this film not a big success compared to its stereotypical formers? Well, there is a clinical unorthodox way in which this film unfolds and the ending is unexpected which makes this one a special watch.
May be going details into the plot may harness the mindset of every filmgoer who hasn't seen this movie yet. But it will be a sin to not mention emotional connect which you may encounter at the climax, which almost sums up the whole movie. What is the point in creating the same old stories to accomplish a blockbuster? Psycho is a very well-conceived serial killing tale that shows us a gruesome psychopath and its killings, but apparently not a way in which the viewers may expect it to be.
And in totality, Psycho is a trademark Myskkin movie who is here to stay in this industry!
