CHERNOBYL
Chernobyl is awesome from the go, it is dark, intense, horrifying and intriguing at the same time. Being not a huge fan of web series's, I found this mini-series pretty interesting solely due to its effective canvas and film making. There is not even a single scene in this web series that I thought should be cropped out. Well, as I mentioned above I am partially prejudiced about my viewpoint referring to seasonal series. Instead, I am mostly attracted to films that are made in a limited time and still get me hooked with its brilliance. But these web series's on the other side are elaborative and not constrained to a specific time frame makes me irritate a bit even though it is quality stuff.
Chernobyl stands out as one of the masterpieces which needed to be watched time and time again. Apparently being a real story makes the plot interesting, the revealing elements of this film are taken in a manner that we precisely can correlate to some of the epic films made in the past. Adding to this, there are these subtle BGM's out of nowhere creates a strange feeling inside us of what is going to happen over there. In fact, the makers have left us a mark on the first 3 episodes by showing us the magnitude of the disaster and the latter 2 episodes concentrate on the reason behind the above explosion.
The one element which is hidden in the whole storyline is how the Soviet Union (USSR) governed the country at that point of time. We will evidently get a clear idea on the fascist perception of the Soviet leaders which ultimately leads to the climax of this epic series. If you have a favorite list of films or a collection of epic ones, be ready to amend that list, because Chernobyl is probably going to hit that list.
What is the cost of lies ?
