BRO DADDY

Amid the star studded cast, with the support of a huge production banner, Prithviraj the director delivers what can be called as a light entertainer hanging in a wafer thin plot. The main takeaway of this film has to be the combination scenes between Mohanlal and Prithviraj. Mohanlal effortlessly pulling off those vintage expressions and Prithviraj supporting him with his own mannerisms in a perfect sync is a real treat to watch. Apart from the lead duo, Kalyani delivers a decent performance which could be her career best till date. Another round of applause goes to Lalu Alex who was dashing in his new avatar, his individual scenes states that there is much more spark in him as an actor, which Malayalam film industry haven't seen much lately.

As I said in the beginning, film is constructed around a thin plot, revolving around an upper middle class family. Prithviraj makes sure that the whole scenes are portrayed in a rich manner, even if it is the modern house, the vibrant costumes or in the colour grading of each scenes, makers gets it right on each and every department from the beginning itself. As we have seen in Lucifer, Prithviraj knows how to present or rather package a movie, even though there are a lot of below par scenes, the aesthetics and film making lifts up those scenes.

The problem with these type of films are it often comes short of scenarios which holds the viewers. There are some portions of this film which definitely seems to be superficial, but when considering the feel good ending and an entertaining first half, 'Bro Daddy' never languishes below the average mark at any point of time. Deepak Dev gives us some soothing melodies which when played in the movie is great to hear.

In overall, Bro Daddy is a family entertainer which is backed by their energetic cast. There are moments which we can relate to in this movie. And why wait? when you can watch Mohanlal in a comic avatar !
