MADHURAM

 

Madhuram starts off as that film which can be categorized into the plethora of feel good movie universe, but gradually evolves into something better than the former. You could often see smiles all over the faces of the characters for the first thirty minutes even though the storyline doesn't move a bit. But the real game changer has to be the performance of Joju and Sruthy. The aura which they bought into the film was really heartwarming. 

The film is set in the backdrop of a Government Medical College which further develops into a non-linear storytelling pattern interconnecting the past events. Joju, who has done variety of roles in his long career offers something new to the plate over here. The romantic scenes between the lead characters and their chemistry through out the movie sets the tone for the entire film. 

The cast including Nikila Vimal, Manu Ashokan, Indrans and Jaffer Idukki delivers that performance which is required for this film. Malayalam film industry has seen a bunch of feel good movies with half baked stories and melodramatic dialogues, but Madhuram tends to differ from the above. Apparently, the film doesn't have a commanding ending, but there are moments which you could cherish after watching this movie.
