SCAM 1992

Dubbed as the biggest financial scam ever in Indian history, scam 1992 revolves around one of the greatest stock market players Harshad Mehta, and his journey of conquering the entire Indian financial system. Makers of scam 1992 places a anti-hero into the screen and and majorly depicts his view point towards the entire scenario. There is another subplot in which Sucheta Dalal, one of the prominent journalists in the 90's, trials every action of Mehta and thus makes the plot intriguing.

Stock market and financial systems is still a far cry for many to understand and scam 1992 succeeds initially by making a layman overview to the whole plot. You as a viewer, will be hooked into different financial terms and will be glued to the whole series just two episodes into it. Scam 1992 was released along with Amazon's much hyped original Mirzapur 2, but with some tough screenplay and eminent characters portrayed by an apt cast, former pushes the latter in the OTT market. Apart from the big players like amazon, netflix and hotstar, there are several other players which are delivering quality contents, and sometimes good alternatives drives better outputs.

Scam 1992 is a well researched web series based on the book by Sucheta Dala and Debashis which unfolds each and every aspect of events occurred during those times. When you cast a main hero to play a title role revealing one of the epic scams, the one thing you shouldn't go wrong is the casting of the same. Positioning Pratik Gandhi as Harshad Mehta almost covered the basics and the rest were revolving around the title role. Some way or other, I am still confused how the makers could make a financial scam this much engaging without any thrilling elements or cliffhangers attached to it as you see in the normal stereotypes.

Scam 1992 is a statement rather than a web series and a strong imprint by Sony Liv !
