SARPATTA PARAMBARAI

 

Sarpatta Parambarai is a high octane sports drama which has its usual cliché elements but it is not short on the thrill factor too. Storyline is build upon a high performing cast lead by Pasupathy. Arya, who had a forgettable run in his recent movies is precisely the show stealer over here delivering a performance which is exemplary after his masterpiece role in Madrasapattinam. The film is confined around two famous boxing clans and the enmity around them. 

Having seen numerous sports dramas in Indian film Industry, Sarpatta Parambai defies all odds by placing a stellar cast who has performed exceptionally throughout the film. Santhosh Narayanan delivering background scores which makes the pace of the film going. We are in for a intriguing first half which is really catchy and the boxing sequences are one of the best ever made in Tamil film Industry. But the second half runs on a bumpy note where in you could see a predictive storyline and it lags here and there. Even though the climax sequences are predictable, the way it is showcased deserves a greater applause. 

PA Ranjith, the director known for his debut film 'Aatakathi' and 'Madras' has recently gone offshore with Rajani starrer ' Kabali' and 'Kaala'. A comeback through Sarpatta Parambarai makes his film as one of the best sports drama's in Tamil Industry.

 An energetic Arya surrounded by an even energetic co-actors makes this flick more than a watchable one !
