Jana Gana Mana
First of all I haven't seen Dijo Jose Antony's initial film Queen which received rave reviews at the box office. Jana Gana Mana was marketed as a pan India film since the makers thought they discussed a subject which the whole India cared about. With the help of some great casting, Jana Gana Mana mostly runs on the power packed performances of their leads. Apparently, it indeed had a great screenplay, but the second half had sensational dialogues which made the film going till the end.
Post the interval, I thought most of the scenes in the movie was a bit dramatic. You wonder how on earth a court room could be this noisy which includes harsh dialogues even though the film demanded it. It made me go back to Prithviraj's another film Kuruthi which had the same dramatic effect post halfway of the film. But barring the above element, film talks about a sensitive issue in an audacious manner which is worth seeing in big screens. Prithvi and Suraj is in full form as they unveil different shades of their character going forward.
Film also had some great female characters with Mamtha getting a memorable role and Vincy making sure that she picked a role which is different from the roles which she has done earlier ( and Vincy nailed her role too). Dijo Jose Antony is a great narrator and you could definetely see not a single boring scene in this movie since all the scenes are well connected through out the movie. Film ends on a starting note to its sequel, but I felt there is no need of a second part here. Like some of the films which announces their second part before the release of their first part, Jana Gana Mana has a proper ending which doesn't extend its story to continue in the second part.
Jana Gana Mana is a brave attempt which has that production quality too and it is a film which is worth discussing.
