CALL

 

With a few number of Korean movies I have watched till date, I was quite impressed with the storyline and making of some of the hit movies over there. They really produce their movies in such a big canvas, and I rarely come across a cringe movie in Korean. 'Call' got some enthralling reviews when it was released back in 2020. Apparently, it was strange to see a movie named well enough to support the theme of the movie and recently I have seen many movies named for namesake. 

Well, going into the story, 'call' revolves around a girl who gets a strange phone call and the events following that call confines the story line of whole movie. At the beginning of the movie I thought this was going to be an ordinary non-linear narrative film, but moving forward you are really into an edge of the seat affair. Barring some of the logical loopholes, 'call' is a perfect thriller from the word go and some additional elements into the end of the movie make this one very special. I have some more movies lined up in the Korean category and I am slowly turning out to be a fanboy of the former ones.

It is pretty difficult end these sort of movies, after delivering numerous thrill moments, you often see movies failing to deliver a climax which supports its whole run. 'Call' rather takes a safe stand here by giving an open ending climax to the viewers, which justifies the whole movie to an extend. 'Call' is a fun ride if you are a lover of thriller movies and waiting for the mid credits scene of the movie would be worth it !
