WELCOME HOME !

Welcome home might sound like a cliché movie on first impression but it serves much more than that to the viewers. Story revolves around two female characters going into a strange house to take census and they come across unforeseen circumstances following that. From the first shot, makers of the movie directs us into this creepy house and makes sure that you get the whole feel of the movie from the beginning. You can name this movie as an edge of the seat violent thriller rather than a horror flick.

Movie is constructed in a low budget but the characters play their parts pretty well in order to fit into the genre. Cinematography and BGM goes in directional with the flow of the movie but I found editing to be out of places for few scenes. There are some movies which could generate an inner feel of fear rather than jump scare traditional horror ones and this movie is one of those.

Normal viewers may find it difficult to digest some of the scenes in this movie as implied in the poster and trailer that this one is not for the faint hearted ones. It is even shocking to realize that this was a real story at the end of the movie. In the case of true incidents converted into movies, makers need to add some artificiality into the normal to blend the film into the cinematic sense, but here they tend to differ. It is rather good to be immersed in the experience of film-making than finding the thrill element or the loopholes in the story line.

Welcome home comes up with a strong message not specifically for the climax sequences, but apparently the whole message revolves around the movie and it is difficult to not see that. Once in a while there should be movies like 'Welcome home' to make sure that nothing is changed here.
