JAGAME THANTHIRAM

 

If you have to name top five directors in Tamil Cinema industry at the moment, Karthik Subbaraj has to be one of them. Despite producing only five films, he seems to have made a mark of his own in the former industry. Coming from the back of an absolute block buster with Rajinikanth, Karthik teamed up with Dhanush to extend the hype. Jagame thanthiram at first impression looks like a spoof film and I thought the team was really confused on how to execute the plot. Placed in UK, film absolutely captures the beauty of locations and editing was up to the point.

With the film revolving around the central character 'Suruli' played by Dhanush, Joju and Aishwarya had equally important characters to play which they executed flawlessly. Even though the story line is predictable, the execution of it is certainly a new one to the Tamil Industry. While critics has stamped mixed reviews for the film, 'Jagame Thanthiram' has to be placed as one of the worst films of Karthik Subbaraj's filmography only due to the quality factor of his previous movies.

Even though the reviews may backfire, it is a movie which is worth the money and is certainly a one time watch. Dhanush again delivering a performance which he has been doing for ages. Having seen the same story line in different films, 'Jagame Thanthiram' would have been a great watch if given a better concise treatment justifying its story line.
