FREEDOM FIGHT
Freedom fight is all about exploring the unexplored. Five short movies amalgamated into an anthology which explains different struggles in different segments sums up the story line of the this film in a nutshell. The main hurdle you face when you create an anthology is to find a co-relation between different stories. And the makers also need to make sure that the engagement factor should never dimnish while moving from the first to the last segment.
Apart from the first movie, every other segments have a wow factor attached to it. Every story is composed or rather treated in a different way, and the transition between each stories are done in seamless manner. Apart from the first one, every other film takes us through to the stuggles of oppressed society in a way or another. I personally found 'Asankhadithar', the second one to be a notch above all the others. Joju giving an other dimension of himself along with Rohini in a Jeo Baby directorial is equally worth watching too. The final story is the most haunting one and it is experimental to an extend. A segment which is high on emotions, disturbs you but still could have been better if they have explored it much more.
So far this is one of the better anthology which came out of this industry. The sheer acting talent and the story line which every short movie posessed is commendable. And we need these type of movies which differentiates from the rest. From time to time, Malayalam film industry produces these sort of movies, which may not appeal to the majority.
So what's your struggle?
