LOOOP LAPETA

Termed as the official adaptation of the 1998 experimental movie 'Run Lola Run', Looop Lapeta tries to be a long extended Indian version of the former which falls short of expectations. With the help of some fast paced editing, unorthodox shots and eccentric colour gradings, Looop Lapeta takes some time to settle and there is never a rush in the initial phase of the movie. Regardless of the above facts, Tapsee Panu delivers another scintillating performance which makes this film going even when it is not.

Time loop is a concept which is less experimented in Indian film industry but recently we have seen Venkat Prabhu directed 'Maanadu', and you ought to think there is a scope for these type of films in this industry. What was meant to be a tight paced thriller, shifts its gears only after the initial 45 minutes. We could see the the beauty of inner Goa through the intriguing chase scenes and that is one point where the film succeeded.

There is a certain element of curiosity when they amalgamated Hindu mythology into the story line, but post that you could never see a convincing ending which justifies the above factor. A film which could have been a genre defining one, turned out to be an exhausting never ending loop which I found difficult to come out of.

Personally I liked the narrative style of the movie. If the makers could have focused on the run time and if the movie had a convincing ending, this one would have gone on to make some fuzz.

Fasten your seat belts and get ready to be immersed in the LOOOOOOP !
