Gehraiyaan
Gehraiyaan, as the name suggests, portrays the depths of modern day relationships. Film showed us a glimps of what its story line could be through their teasers and songs. Backed by their young cast, Deepika Padukone again delivers a performance which stamps her position as one of the best rated actress across the country. The easiness through which she mirrored the inner conflicts of her character was mind blowing.
Siddhant Chaturvedi gives a convincing performance, even though he couldn't match up to what he did in Gully Boy. Ananya Pandey, who carried her role in a mature way, made sure that she has a lot more to offer than her counterparts.
The beauty of the film lies in the initial 45 minutes where the film establishes its characters, their backgrounds and the dialogues are so relatable. Post that in the second half, film becomes too dramatic and some of the scenes felt like the makers were forcefully changing the pace of the movie.
Gehraiyaan is a film which has its soul and could be termed as an emotional thriller. There are events which turned out quite well in the film and most of them are unpredictable. Film doesn't offer anything new and ending lacks that conclusional element in a complex story which you are looking for.
Deepika Padukone is the saving grace of the film for most of its run time. But beyond a point, Gehraiyaan lacks that depth.
