MUDHAL NEE MUDIVUM NEE
The first thing which excites me in this film is its director. A musician, music composer, an actor and finally turning into a director for MNMN, Darbuka Siva has seen it all. Apparently, he cemented his place in the industry through the film 'Enna Noki Payum Thotta', where his songs were a revelation at that point of time.
Even though the songs of MNMN were streaming quite successfully through youtube and the teasers indicating a walk down lane to the 90's, film had a silent OTT release without much fuzz. There are moments in this film which you could certainly cherish if you are from the 90's. There are these Walkman's, cassette's, AR Rahman songs and much more which may induce a certain level of nostalgic breeze through out the first half. Songs and the BGM composed by Siva himself elevates the film to an other level. Film is written in such a way that the whole film comprises of small moments which you could relate to but often there seems to be discontinuity in the scenes which is one of the cons of this movie.
Much appreciation must go to the casting of this movie and the transition between the characters to their older self's is effortlessly portrayed over here by the whole cast. But the star performer has to be Kishen Das, there was never a point in the movie where he found clueless in his character. The way he carried his emotions through out the movie keeps him in the most wanted list of upcoming actors.
A vibrant first half followed by a not so vibrant second half with a hint of unrealistic element sums up the whole movie. Having said all that, MNMN is a decent one time watch which covers most of the bases very well. Darbuka Siva positioned this film as a musical journey which lives up to its name for most of its runtime.
Now its time to walk down the memory lane !

Beautiful write up..!!
